Fluconazole Tablets is used in the treatment of various fungal infections, including yeast infections. It has a dual action against fungal organs and is useful in the treatment of cryptococcal meningitis. Fluconazole is an antifungal that works by stopping the growth of fungus. It is believed that Fluconazole treats yeast infections, where there is a build up of blood yeasts (fungal that is present in the body) which helps to reduce symptoms and increase patient compliance. It also reduces the risk of reinfection of the patient due to its dual action.

Fluconazole is a synthetic, semi-synthetic form of benzthiazole. It was created in 1962 as a way to make a new medication (thrush). The medication is available as tablets and suspension (fluconazole). Fluconazole is a type of triazole which is part of a ring family of nucleoside analogs. It is used to treat certain fungal infections such as yeast infections, cryptococcal meningitis and cryptococcal liver abscess. It is also used to treat vaginal candidiasis (a fungal infection caused by a fungus that lives in the vagina). Fluconazole is an effective treatment for fungal infections of the central nervous system ( CNS), skin, eyes and respiratory tract. It works by killing the fungus that is present in the body, or by inhibiting its growth.
